I don't think I should have a scale in my house. I'm tempted all the time to weigh myself. But that's not a good idea because your weight fluctuates day to day. So this is the head ache I've had this week. Weds I weighted myself and I lost 5 lbs :) Thursday I weighted myself and I gained 3 lbs, Yesterday I weighed myself and I gained 4 more lbs! This morning I was at a net loss of 2 lbs. I'm taking it and I'm not weight myself again until next week. My sister suggested weighing myself every two weeks.
It's slow going. I wish it were faster. Now I'm not going to go out and cutting my calories to 1000 a day or binge in cupcakes and ice cream....ummmm cupcakes. I know it's going to take a long time to get where I want. Adding exercise would speed it up but I was really hoping to not have to add that in so soon. It's not that I don't like exercise. There is nothing like a great work out it's just....blah. I'm feeling lazy about it. Working 5 days a week and only having 2 days off to chill out begins to get tiring. I don't feel like working out after working 8 hours and an hour bus ride. But damn it I think I might be leaning into that direction.
Well if I have to start working out I want to swim. I like swimming. That means gym membership.... Spending money!!!!! Damn it again! Blah maybe I should just cut down to 1000 cal a day :)
Day by day right
There are several community centers in the area that have pools. They are a lot cheaper (and less pretentious) than gyms. I recommend you check them out instead. So proud of you!
ReplyDeleteBuy those little ankle weights, they are cheap and you can just strap them on when you wake up in the morning and wear them all day. The added weight will make a difference.
ReplyDeleteThe problem with most people is that they don't realize that they do physical work outs all day long (walking) but when your body is use to it you need to bump things up a notch.
When you go shopping park at the other end of the parking lot and carry something heavy (milk) to the car when you go back. When you take the bus, walk to the next bus stop down or get off one stop early and walk to work or home from there.
I noticed that when I walked with Caspian on my back (I found the moby wrap) I was really sore later because he's about 29lbs now. I don't have much time because of the baby and school but I know that I can take a few minutes a day to walk with the boy. He loves it because we are outside and I love it because I don't need to be playing with legos or cleaning up after him.
What about the Dude?LOL, no really, hes a dog and he needs walks. Dog parks are great, but you are less likely to move around when your dog is busy socializing. Walking him will force you to move and ware him out. *glares at you* and you need to make sure his big ol puppy dog tongue is hanging out the side of his face all the way before you stop.
If you want to swim go the YMCA or something, I will look for cheap memberships to pools for you. Trust me, you don't have to spend a lot of money to be healthy.
I have made it a point to serve healthy stuff at Caspian's birthday party in support of your new goals! As your bestest friend in the universe I vow to help and not hinder your progress!
